Habitat & distribution
Grows best in high rainfall and humidity areas with moderately high temperature. 
Naturally found and cultivated in the North East.

Culm
The culm is up to 20 m tall, olive green and smooth.

Sporadic. Flowering cycle is 40 years

Uses
Mainly used in for making baskets, and mats.
